83 Street Lane Shift
July 16, 2020 – Starting on or about July 24, 2020 crews will be commencing permanent curb and road construction on 83 Street between Argyll Road and 69A Ave. This work will take place during peak, off-peak, and overnight hours and is expected to last approximately three months. To accommodate this work, the northbound lane between Argyll Road and 69A Avenue will be shifted to the west side of the elevated guideway on 83 Street.
There will be noise associated with this work and TransEd has taken several noise mitigation actions in advance of this work commencing. Those actions include but are not limited to the installation of noise blankets ahead of the work beginning and reducing the use of back up alarms.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
- Northbound traffic on 83 Street from Argyll Road to 69A Avenue will be shifted west.
- There will be noise associated with this work.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
During this time please watch for, and follow, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
We ask for your understanding and patience as construction progresses.
