83 Street and Argyll Road No Left Turns

Noise, Notice, Vehicle

EDMONTON, AB – June 20, 2019 – Starting on or around June 27, 2019, motorists will be unable to turn left (eastbound) from 83 Street onto Argyll Road during night hours only (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.).

The work requiring this closure includes a combination of both drainage and guideway work to create the structure & track for the Valley Line LRT.

The closure will last for approximately 4 weeks.

Motorists are encouraged to use 99 Street as an alternate route during this time.

There will be overnight noise associated with this work.

Drainage work means that the first couple of days are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first couple of days are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on the drainage underground.

TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
