83 Street and 82 Avenue Intersection Shift

UPDATE: This work will now occur on Wednesday August 28th during night time hours (9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.)

EDMONTON, AB – August 19, 2019 – Starting on or about August 23, 2019, motorists will be shifted to the east side of the intersection at 83 Street and 82 Avenue as crews will be working on the west side of the road. This shift is to accommodate drainage work, road work, and track installation on the west side of the road. This work will take place during day time hours (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.).

This configuration will last for the duration of the year.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Traffic will shift to the east side of the intersection at 83 Street and 82 Avenue.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

There will be noise associated with the work. Drainage work means that the first couple of weeks are going to be the loudest. Crews will have to break through the concrete in order to get to the pipes underground. Once the first few weeks are over and crews have broken through the concrete, the work is much quieter as crews will be working on the drainage.
