
66 St between 28 Ave and Whitemud Dr – Construction Activity

Construction is underway on the 13.1 kilometre southeast leg of the Valley Line LRT.
On or around September 19, 2016, Construction in the median along 66 Street between 28 Avenue and Whitemud Drive will move to a 24-hour work schedule to accommodate temporary paving and excavation work. This change will significantly reduce overall lane closures and duration of time in the median. This work will continue until winter conditions prevent construction from proceeding.
Work will take place in the following areas:
- 66 Street between 28 Avenue and Whitemud Drive.
To accommodate this work, the public may be impacted in the following areas:
- Minor traffic disruptions.
- Moderate noise on and off during the evening.
During construction, please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and instructions of work crews. We appreciate your patience during this time.

On or around August 1, 2016, construction will begin on 66 St. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with much of it happening in off-peak hours. Vehicle traffic may be affected in either direction with single lane closures, and there may be noise associated with this work. On or around August 1, 2016, construction will begin on 66 St. in support of the 13.1 southease leg of the Valley Line LRT. This phase of work will end in October; however, construction on the Valley Line LRT will continue in this area into 2019.
This phase of work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with much of it happening in off-peak hours (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and will include:
- Stripping of topsoil from medians
- Removal of curbs and medians
- Underground drainage work
- Placement of temporary asphalt
To accommodate this work, the public may be impacted.
- Vehicle traffic may be affected in either direction with single lane closures.
- There may be noise associated with this work.
