
102 Avenue Day/Night Work – Major Lane Closure
July 9, 2020 – Starting on or around July 13, 2020, TransEd crews will be commencing road and sidewalk reconstruction on 102 Avenue between 95 Street and 97 Street. This work will primarily occur during the day (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) however, some of this work may need to be accomplished at night and there may be noise associated with the work. TransEd is committed to doing everything possible to mitigate noise and vibrations during work in this area and endeavor to perform the loudest work during daytime hours. (loud work includes activities such as concrete and asphalt removal and hydrovac excavation)
This work is expected to last through to the end of the construction season.
To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
102 Avenue, West of 96 Street
- Continued full closure on 102 Avenue West of 96 Street
- Occasional overnight work (9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.)
- There will be noise associated with this work, however crews will complete the noisiest work during the day.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
96 Street From 101A Avenue to 102 Avenue
- Access from Jasper Avenue only
- Egress through 101A Avenue only
- Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained
102 Avenue East of 96 Street
- Full closure on 102 Avenue East of 96 Street
- The single eastbound lane will be closed
- Some overnight work (9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.)
- There will be noise associated with this work, however crews will complete the noisiest work during the day.
- Pedestrian access will be closed.
Vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic disruptions will vary by location. During this time please watch for, and observe, all traffic detours and direction of construction personnel.
TransEd is committed to following all City of Edmonton bylaws and regulations and has obtained an overnight roadwork permit so that work can take place during nighttime hours in order to minimize major daytime traffic disruptions. *City of Edmonton Bylaw C14600.
