Minor Lane Closure, 75th Street at 60th Avenue

January 24, 2022 – Starting on or about January 31, 2022 crews will be performing minor drainage works beneath the elevated LRT bridge at about 60 Avenue and 75 Street. Traffic will be maintained with two southbound lanes and three northbound lanes on 75 Street for approximately 4hrs during the day.  There is no expected noise or vibration created by the work in this area.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following ways:
• One of the three southbound lanes on 75 Street will be closed to motorists
• Flaggers will be on hand to assist traffic as required.

June 3, 2021 – Starting on or about June 26, 2021 crews will be performing concrete barrier construction works on both sides of Connors Hill. To accommodate this work, two eastbound lanes will be closed on Connors Rd (Muttart Services Rd to Cloverdale hill) for the three-day duration of work. Traffic will be detoured. Work will occur during the day and night hours.

There will be noise associated with this work such as concrete pump trucks backing up, as well as concrete pumping and small machinery moving. TransEd is committed to doing everything possible to mitigate noise and vibrations during work in this area. The noisiest works will occur during the daytime hours.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:
• Two eastbound lanes will be closed on Connors Rd (Muttart Services Rd to Cloverdale hill) for the three-day duration of work. Work will occur during the day and night hours
• There will be noise associated with this work.

December 30, 2020 – Starting on or about January 7, 2021, crews will be performing finishing works at the Strathearn Stop platform overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on 95 Avenue between 87 Street and 89 Street.  To accommodate this work, the westbound lane between 87 Street and 89 Street will be closed and traffic will be detoured to Strathearn Drive.  This work is expected to last two nights.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Overnight work on 95 Avenue between 87 Street and 89 Street.
  • Westbound lane on 95 Ave from 87 Street and 89 Street will be closed.
  • Westbound traffic will be detoured to Strathearn Drive
  • There will be noise from hand tools.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

December 7, 2020 – Starting on or about December 15, 2020, crews will begin drilling piles for the retaining wall on the west side of 83 Street between 69 Avenue and Argyll Road.  To accommodate this work, the southbound lane of 83 Street will be closed between 69 Avenue and Argyll Road.  This work will occur overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and is expected to last approximately one week.

There will be noise associated with this work, including drilling, pumping, and backup beepers.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Overnight work on 83 Street between 69 Avenue and Argyll Road.
  • Closure of the southbound lane on 83 Street between 69 Avenue and Argyll Road.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

November 25, 2020 – Starting on or about December 3, 2020, crews will be pouring concrete for the west ramps of the Strathearn Stop overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on 95 Avenue between 87 Street and 89 Street.  To accommodate this work, the eastbound lane of 95 Avenue between 91 Street and 87 Street will be closed Thursday evening.  On Friday evening, the eastbound lane of 95 Avenue between 91 Street and 85 Street will be closed. This work is expected to last two nights.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Overnight work on 95 Avenue between 89 Street and 87 Street.
  • Eastbound lane on 95 Ave from 91 Street to 87 Street will be closed Thursday night.
  • Eastbound lane on 95 Ave from 91 Street to 85 Street will be closed Friday night.
  • There will be noise associated with this work, mainly backup beepers from the concrete trucks.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

November 24, 2020 – Starting on or around November 30, 2020, Connors Road will no longer be accessible from Strathearn Drive.

As vehicles will not be able to cross the LRT tracks on this section of 95 Avenue, motorists exiting Strathearn Drive must turn right and take Cloverdale Road to 98 Avenue.

October 27, 2020 – On or about November 15, 2020, TransEd will be shifting traffic at the intersection of 90 Avenue and 83/85 Street.  This work will occur during peak, off-peak, and overnight hours and is expected to last five weeks.  Work will primarily occur during the day (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) however, some of this work will need to be accomplished at night. Work that causes more noise and vibrations will be completed during daytime hours.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

On 90 Avenue, East of 83/85 Street:

  • One westbound through lane will remain open.
  • One westbound dedicated left turn lane will remain open.
  • One eastbound through lane will remain open.
  • One eastbound and one westbound through lane will be closed.

On 83 Street, South of 90 Avenue

  • One northbound through lane will remain open.
  • One northbound dedicated left turn lane will remain open.
  • One southbound through lane will remain open.
  • One northbound dedicated left turn lane will be closed.

October 26, 2020 – Starting on or about November 2, 2020, crews will be performing drainage works on Argyll Road and then on Coronet Road at 83 Street.

The work will begin on Argyll Road where the eastbound curb lane will be closed overnight, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for one week.  Once that work is completed, crews will move to Coronet Road where no through access will be permitted during overnight hours, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for one week. 

There will be noise associated with this work such saw cutting and noise from a small hydrovac truck.  In order to not disrupt traffic during the day, crews will have to perform this work during night hours.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Closure of the eastbound lane on Argyll Road at 83 Street for the first week.
  • Closure of Coronet Road at 83 Street for the second week.
  • There will be overnight noise associated with this work.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Full closure of 75 Street between Wagner Road and McIntyre Road.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Should the activities not be completed over this weekend, for reasons including but not limited to inclement weather, the weekend of November 13 will serve as the contingency date.

October 26 – The final span installation will occur this evening between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

October 9, 2020 – Wagner Road will be closed overnight between 75 Street and 80 Street on October 19, 22, 24 and 27. Closures will take place between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. each night while TransEd crews replace two elevated spans on the Valley Line LRT.  The closure also impacts 75 Street north and southbound, which will briefly close at Wagner Road for equipment access.

To accommodate this work, the public will be impacted in the following areas:

  • Overnight closures (four total) of Wagner Road between 75 Street and 80 Street.
  • Two short 10-minute closures of 75 Street each night.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.
